Why a Small Team Delivers Better Outcomes

At most wealth management firms, your portfolio is one of thousands managed by a rotating cast of advisors who may never learn your name. At Mynewlife Investments, we made a deliberate choice when Marc-Antoine founded the firm in 2012: stay small enough that every client relationship is personal, but hire deeply enough that no area of expertise is left uncovered.

Our six-person structure means you work directly with the professional whose credentials match your specific needs — whether that's portfolio management, financial planning, risk analysis, or tax strategy. There's no hand-off to a junior associate, no "relationship manager" who acts as a buffer between you and the people doing the actual work.

The result? A 94% client retention rate since inception, and an average client tenure that now exceeds seven years. Our clients stay because they know exactly who is managing their money and why every decision is being made.

Marc-Antoine Delisle, CFA, CFP®
Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Marc-Antoine holds the CFA designation and is a Certified Financial Planner. He earned his BComm from HEC Montréal in 2003 and spent eight years as a portfolio analyst working on Caisse de dépôt-affiliated mandates, where he managed segments of Canadian fixed-income and multi-asset portfolios exceeding $1.2 billion in aggregate value.

In 2012, frustrated by the industry's misaligned incentives, he founded Mynewlife Investments with 47 newsletter subscribers and a conviction that boutique firms could deliver institutional-quality management with genuine transparency. Today he leads all investment policy decisions, chairs the firm's quarterly investment committee, and still personally manages the firm's longest-tenured client relationships — including several families who have been with Mynewlife since that first year.

"I built this firm because I was tired of watching good people get bad advice. Every client who understands their portfolio is a small victory against an industry that profits from confusion."
Nathalie Ouellet, CFA, CIM®
Senior Portfolio Manager & Partner

Nathalie joined Mynewlife in 2015 after 11 years in equity research at National Bank Financial, where she covered the industrials and materials sectors and was twice named to the Brendan Wood International Canadian Analyst Survey. She holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation and specializes in Canadian and U.S. equities, sector rotation strategy, and ESG integration across multi-asset portfolios.

As the firm's second partner, Nathalie directly manages approximately $95 million in client assets. She chairs the firm's ESG screening process and leads all client portfolio reviews for accounts above $750,000. Her research notes form the foundation of many of the equity commentaries published on our Research page.

"Equity research taught me to read between the lines of a balance sheet. Managing real people's portfolios taught me that the numbers only matter when they serve someone's actual life."
Philippe Tran, M.Sc. Finance, FRM
Director of Risk & Quantitative Strategy

Philippe holds a Master of Science in Finance from Université de Montréal and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). Before joining Mynewlife, he spent three years in derivatives pricing at the Montréal Exchange — Canada's financial derivatives market — and then built and maintained risk models for a Montréal-based long/short equity hedge fund managing over $400 million.

He joined the firm in 2017 and oversees all portfolio stress testing, correlation analysis, drawdown scenario modeling, and the firm's proprietary asset allocation framework. Philippe runs Monte Carlo simulations across every client portfolio quarterly, ensuring that even in tail-risk scenarios — 2008-style drawdowns, rapid rate hikes, currency dislocations — our clients' plans remain viable. His quantitative work directly shapes the asset class positioning the firm deploys across all mandates.

"Risk isn't a number on a report — it's the gap between what you expect and what actually happens. My job is to make that gap as small as possible."
Camille Bergeron, CFP®, Pl. Fin.
Director of Financial Planning

Camille is both a Certified Financial Planner and a licensed Planificateur financier (Pl. Fin.) in Quebec — one of the province's most rigorous professional designations, requiring completion of IQPF coursework, a comprehensive examination, and ongoing ethics and continuing education obligations. She joined Mynewlife in 2016 after five years at Desjardins Wealth Management, where she managed financial plans for high-net-worth families.

At Mynewlife, Camille leads all comprehensive financial planning engagements — retirement income projections, tax optimization strategies, estate coordination with clients' notaries and lawyers, insurance needs analysis, and education savings planning. She's known for translating complex tax scenarios into clear visual models that clients can actually understand and act upon, and she works closely with Julien Marchand on integrated tax-aware planning.

"The best financial plan isn't the most sophisticated one — it's the one the client actually understands and follows."
Julien Marchand, CPA, CGA
Tax Strategy & Compliance Advisor

Julien is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joined Mynewlife in 2019 from a mid-size accounting firm in Laval where he spent seven years specializing in personal and corporate tax for business owners and professionals. He brings deep expertise in the tax implications of every investment decision — RRSP/TFSA/RESP optimization and contribution room management, strategic capital gains and loss harvesting, corporate investment holding structures for incorporated professionals, and cross-border tax considerations for clients holding U.S. assets or receiving U.S.-source income.

Julien works closely with Camille on integrated financial plans, ensuring that every recommendation is stress-tested for tax efficiency before implementation. He also coordinates with clients' external accountants and tax lawyers to ensure seamless year-end planning — a service integration that most boutique firms simply can't offer because they lack in-house tax expertise.

"Tax efficiency isn't an afterthought — it's the difference between keeping your returns and giving them away. Every basis point matters."
Sarah Lavoie
Client Experience & Operations Manager

Sarah has been with Mynewlife since 2014 — the firm's very first hire, joining when Marc-Antoine was still managing everything from a single office in the Plateau. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Collège de Maisonneuve and has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC). Over the past decade, she has built and refined every operational system the firm relies on.

Sarah manages all client onboarding processes, quarterly and annual reporting systems, CRM operations, compliance documentation, and regulatory filing coordination. She is the operational backbone of the firm and the first voice clients hear when they call (720) 227-4800. Her meticulous approach to documentation and client communication is a key reason our onboarding satisfaction scores consistently exceed 97%.

"I've watched clients arrive anxious and leave confident. That transformation — that's why I've been here for over a decade."

How We Work Together to Protect Your Wealth

Our team structure isn't accidental. Every role exists because our clients' financial lives demand specialized expertise that no single advisor can provide alone.

Weekly Investment Committee

Every Tuesday morning, Marc-Antoine, Nathalie, and Philippe convene to review market developments, stress-test current positioning, and evaluate potential changes to client portfolios. Decisions are never made in isolation — they're debated, challenged, and documented before a single trade is placed.

Integrated Planning Reviews

Camille and Julien co-lead every comprehensive financial plan, ensuring that investment strategy, tax planning, estate considerations, and insurance needs are evaluated as a unified whole. Clients receive one cohesive recommendation, not fragmented advice from disconnected specialists working at different firms.

Direct Client Access

When you call our office, Sarah answers. When you have a portfolio question, you speak directly to the person managing your money. We don't use gatekeepers, automated phone trees, or "your call is important to us" queues. Our average response time to client inquiries is under four hours during business days.

Our Collective Credentials — Earned, Not Inherited

Nine professional designations across six team members. Each represents years of rigorous study, comprehensive examinations, and ongoing continuing education requirements.

CFA CFP® CIM® FRM Pl. Fin. CPA, CGA CSC M.Sc. Finance BComm (HEC Montréal)

The CFA charter alone requires passing three progressive examinations over a minimum of two and a half years, with an average candidate pass rate below 50%. The Pl. Fin. designation — Quebec's gold standard for financial planners — demands completion of the IQPF professional program, a rigorous case-based examination, and adherence to the Chambre de la sécurité financière's continuing education mandate of at least 30 professional development units every two years.

We pursue these designations not because they look impressive on business cards, but because our clients deserve professionals who have earned — and continue to earn — the right to manage their wealth. When we advise on asset allocation across seven asset classes, tax-efficient withdrawal strategies, or estate coordination, we do so with the training and accountability that these designations demand.
