Complimentary & No Obligation

Not Ready to Switch? Start With a Second Opinion.

Our Portfolio Review & Second Opinion Service is a complimentary, one-time written assessment of your current holdings — offered to prospective clients considering a deeper relationship with our firm. There is no cost and no obligation to proceed.

Here's what we analyze: management fees and embedded costs (the average Canadian pays 2.1% annually — our all-in average is 0.42%), asset allocation relative to your risk profile, tax efficiency across registered and non-registered accounts, geographic and sector diversification gaps, and exposure to correlated assets that may amplify drawdowns.

The deliverable is a clear, side-by-side comparison: your current trajectory versus an optimized alternative built by our team of CFA, CFP, FRM, and CPA-designated professionals. We present findings in plain language — the same approach that drives our published research.

Zero pressure. Zero obligation. Just clarity.

Common Questions Before Your First Call

We've heard these questions thousands of times over our 14 years. Here are honest answers.

Is there a minimum portfolio size to work with you?

We work with individuals and families across a wide range of portfolio sizes, though our discretionary management services are most effective for portfolios of $250,000 and above. That said, we encourage anyone to reach out — if we aren't the right fit, we'll point you toward someone who is.

How is your fee structure different from my bank's?

The average Canadian investor pays approximately 2.1% in annual all-in fees through bank-distributed mutual funds. Our average all-in cost is 0.42%, achieved through institutional-class fund access, direct equity holdings, and a transparent advisory fee. Visit our services page for a detailed breakdown of how our fee tiers work.

What does the onboarding process look like?

After an initial conversation (phone, video, or in-person), we conduct a comprehensive review of your current holdings, tax situation, and goals. From there, we present a written Investment Policy Statement tailored to your circumstances. If you decide to proceed, account transfers typically complete within 10–15 business days. Our team handles all the paperwork — you don't need to call your old advisor.

Do you only serve clients in Québec?

No. Mynewlife Investments is registered with both the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) in Québec and the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). We serve clients across both provinces, with many Ontario-based clients working with us entirely via video and phone. Explore our market coverage to see the asset classes and geographies we invest across.

I'm not ready to move my money. Can I still talk to someone?

Absolutely. Many of our 340+ client households started with a single conversation — sometimes years before they officially came on board. Our complimentary Portfolio Review & Second Opinion exists precisely for this stage. There is never any pressure to act. We'd rather build trust over time than rush a relationship.
